Sharjah: Here is your chance to stay at the 300-year-old fortress turned hotel in Sharjah.

The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) has announced the soft opening of the first phase of the "Najd Al Meqsar" project. Managed by the Sharjah Collection, this project stands as a premier luxury hospitality and heritage tourism destination in Khorfakkan, located in the eastern region of the Emirate of Sharjah.

Nestled in Khorfakkan, the eastern gem of Sharjah, Najd Al Meqsar, emerges as a pinnacle of luxury hospitality and heritage tourism.

Phase 1: Where history meets luxury:

The first phase promises an immersive journey for both local guests and international travelers. Set amidst breathtaking mountain views, seven meticulously restored units within a century-old house offer a glimpse into the past. Spanning 17,210 square meters, the site hosts a restaurant, reception area, and a trail leading to the iconic 300-year-old Al Meqsar Fortress, connecting guests directly with nature.

Collaborating with Sharjah Infrastructure Development Authority (Mubadara), the project emphasises quality materials that honour architectural legacy while complementing natural surroundings.

Phase 2: Enriching the guest experience:

Looking forward, Phase 2, set for handover in early 2026, aims to elevate guest experiences. Additional units overlooking valleys on 16,500 square meters will offer communal spaces for a holistic retreat. This strategic phased development approach ensures the preservation of original foundations while providing access to trails and the Wadi Wishi archaeological site.

Witnessing history unfold:

Najd Al Meqsar encapsulates millennia of history. Once home to the Al Hanateeb tribe, it housed the historic Al Rafisah Fort and thrived near the abundant waters of Wadi Wishi. Despite the area's transformation, historical artifacts like the "Hussat Al Meqsar" rock stand as poignant reminders of its vibrant past. With Najd Al Meqsar, Sharjah invites guests on a journey of discovery, connection, and enrichment amidst the emirate's natural beauty and cultural richness.
